Western Bhutan Tour 2015 6nights/7days


  • Day 01: Arrive – Paro/ Bhutan & drive to Thimphu (approx. 1 hour drive). Upon arrival at Paro international airport, meet with our guide. Visit Paro Dzong and Museum and then continue drive to Thimphu, enroute visit Tamchog Lhakhang. In Thimphu visit memorial chorten, Mini Takin zoo and Tashicho Dzong (after office hours). Lunch at hotel/restaurant. Dinner at Hotel.
  • Day 02: Thimphu Visit Zorig Chusum (School of Arts), Textile Museum, Folk heritage museum, Big Buddha statue (commonly known as Buddha point) or hike to Tango or Cheri Goemba, if interested. Evening leisure walks around town and visit the local shops and people. Lunch in a restaurant Dinner at Hotel
  • Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes drive) Drive to Punakha, enroute visit Druk Wangyel Chortens at Dochula pass (coffee stop at Druk Wangyel cafe). Continue drive to Punakha. Visit Chimmi Lhakhang and Punakha Dzong. Lunch at Chimmi Lhakhang Cafe. Dinner at Hotel.
  • Day 04: Punakha Hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten and evening visit farmhouses, fields, etc (if interested) or leisure time around town. Lunch in a restaurant Dinner at Hotel
  • Day 05: Punakha – Paro (approx. 4 hours drive) Morning drive to Wangdi valley and visit the newly settled town and ruins of Wangdi Dzong which was burnt down by fire. Then continue drive to Paro and enroute visit Simtokha Dzong. In Paro, if time permits visit the local shops/town or the ruins of Drugyel Dzong. Lunch in a restaurant/hotel. Dinner at Hotel.
  • Day 6: Paro After breakfast hike to Taktshang Monastery and evening visit Satsam chorten and Kyichu Lhakhang. Lunch at Taktshang café (only vegetarian meals) Dinner at Hotel
  • Day 07: Departure from hotel to airport for onward journey.
  • Every effort will be made to adhere to the planned itinerary, due to weather conditions, road conditions, national holidays and reasons beyond BTCL’s control, changes in the daily program may be necessary depending upon the time of the visit to Bhutan.
  • All visits to Dzongs and Monasteries limited till courtyard only.
  • Visit to Tashichhodzong allowed only after office hours (after 4 pm) in winter (after 5PM in summer) when monk body is not in Thimphu.
  • ll visitors visiting Dzongs and Temples must be dressed appropriately in proper dresses; leave shoes / sandals / caps at the entrance of temples and follow other appropriate personal decorum.
  • Visit to weekend markets in Thimphu can be included, if your tour falls on weekend.
  • Our itineraries are kept flexible as per our clients’ interest and tour duration.
